RIP Heath

I realize this is a bizarre first post.
But I'm a young actor and my generation just lost one of it's own.
Accidents happen, I know.
But I can't help but wonder if celebrity/fame/this business fucks people up.
We tend to want to believe that if you're a hard-working, respectful,
passionate person, you will be rewarded with success, happiness, and longevity.
If anything, it reminds me that life is unexpectedly wonderful and tragic all at the same time.
And precious.
Endlessly precious.

I still haven't blogged anything about this, because I still haven't figured out how to react. I keep thinking I am too sad, or should be more sad, or something. I think it still doesn't make sense to me, like I don't believe that he's really dead (which is why I think I'm too sad; saying it doesn't seem real makes it sound like I knew him personally or something).

Anyway, welcome to the blogosphere, as they call it. I am officially subscribed to your blog.

The first thought I had was of the way I felt when I heard about River Phoenix. It came out of the blue and knocked the wind out me that such an amazingly talented person who had so much life ahead of him was taken in such an unfortunate and tragic way. I'm working on a film in New Zealand with a friend of his and we spent a good deal of this evening talking about it. So sad.
